July Newsletter: Design Days 2024 Furniture + Architectural Interiors Recap

 

This year at Neocon and Design Days, the largest commercial furniture tradeshows in the world, we saw interior design take a more intentional approach, catering to the needs of the user with versatility, flexibility, and comfort. Conestoga College: The Modern Learning Environment in a Historic Building in Kitchener Downtown Campus

 

The Collective worked alongside DFY Studio to furnish Conestoga College’s interiors in the first new Mass Timber building in the Waterloo Region at 1 Young Street. Phase 1, encompassing the lobby and second floor, opened to students in January 2024, following the commencement of work in the previous October. Every floor showcases exposed wood ceilings, columns, and beams. The result had blue hue color accents and natural finishes complemented by biophilic elements throughout the floors.
